Classes
At The Speech Garden, we believe that each child is unique and, thus, has individual learning needs. As such, our curriculum is teacher-created, ever-evolving, and child-centered.
We believe that the natural curiosity of preschoolers drives learning and the heart of our curriculum is based upon those curiosities. With careful consideration, we develop seasonal themes and select appropriate literature to drive each day’s learning. Themes are incorporated into all of the day’s activities, including hands-on science experiments, early mathematical concepts and pre-reading skills. We also use many visual, auditory, and written cues to supplement instruction in order to reach each child’s unique learning style.
At the beginning of each year, our teachers analyze the parent provided paperwork and work with parents to create each child’s individual goals within a ‘Therapeutic Educational Plan’ or TEP. The TEP goals are integrated into the daily curriculum and guide the overall education of each child. The TEP is constantly evolving as the child’s needs change and is updated throughout the year.
