Summer Session Curriculum
Our summer session program is a unique blend of classroom instruction, summer fun, and speech and language remediation.
It is important to us that natural speech and language learning occurs constantly throughout the day. Children work on speech and language development while playing and interacting with other children, and through our weekly content material.
Daily activities mimic those of a typical preschool or early elementary class, and consist of art, music, morning circle, language circle, science, recess, lunch, and centers. Older classes may also focus on technology, drama, and reading. Centered around a ‘book of the day’, literacy connects all activities, and allows the central focus to be on speech and language development.
At TSGI, we value the use of music and specific movements to encourage language development and social interactions. Pairing music with academic learning enables children with difficulties in these areas another opportunity to retrieve and recall information.
Visual cues are embedded in all activities. Schedules, song boards, picture cues, and thinking maps are used to help children organize, recall, and demonstrate new learning.
Daily Schedule
Every minute of every day, we are working on speech, language and social skills. We are different because our children are learning communication skills all day long!
Below is a sample daily schedule. Of course, class schedules vary slightly according to the needs and age of each class. Sample goals are listed in parenthesis.
Dates & Registration
Each summer, our session runs for four weeks during the month of June.
The Summer Session is always held Monday-Thursday from 9:00 to 12:45. There is no class on Fridays.
Families may choose to attend all four weeks, or any three of the four designated weeks.
There is no refund for missed sessions.
The dates for 2026 are June 1-June 25.
2026 Summer Session Tuition
Cost for the summer sessions are $850 for three weeks and $1,000 for four weeks. New camper screenings are $25. A small amount of need-based financial aid is available for families who otherwise may not be able to attend due to financial constraints.
Financial Aid
A limited number of partial scholarships are awarded on a demonstrated, need basis for the camp program. Paper applications are due April 15 of each year. Application and instructions can be found here. Before mailing, please keep a copy for your records.
Refund Policy
The deposit is non-refundable; other portions paid may be refunded with written cancellation within one month from start of camp. No refunds for cancellations after one month from start of camp. There is no trial period; no refunds for withdrawals for any reason.
Payment Policy
Prior to April 1, registered campers may choose to pay in full or pay the deposit only by selecting the desired option at registration. The balance is due by April 1.
Applications received after April 1 require payment in full. The deposit is non-refundable; other portions paid may be refunded with written cancellation within one month from start of camp. There are no refunds for any reason after one month prior to the start of camp.
Children wishing to attend only two weeks must register and pay for three weeks and inform camp staff of this decision.
Upon payment, you will receive an email receipt. Please keep this receipt as record of your payment, should you need it for insurance or tax purposes
